The 1903 Australian Electoral Roll was the first list of the Upper Murray that included females and residents that did not own land. This list was used to create a snapshot of the surnames of the Upper Murray in 1903. Surprisingly there were over 460 surnames, so it ensure names could be read it was compared with the 1905 Australian Electoral Roll, old Corryong Courier articles and historical books.
The 1903 Australian Electoral Roll did not include African, Asian, Polynesian or Indigenous people. A cross has been added to signify the mark or signature of those without a voice.
